DALI NESUASHVILI
Health Without Borders
A New Standard in Medical Tourism with “Medinsider”
Interview by Ketia Belkania
In the modern world, healthcare no longer recognizes borders. Patients from all over the globe seek the ideal synthesis of quality, speed, and comfort. In response to this global demand, Turkey has emerged as an international medical hub where cutting-edge technology meets exceptional hospitality. At the vanguard of this process stands MLP Care — the largest healthcare group, uniting 40 MedicalPark and Liv Hospital clinics worldwide.
How do you create a service that gives peace of mind and hope to a patient thousands of kilometers away? To explore this topic, we spoke with Dali Nesuashvili, Head of Business Development and International Relations at MLP Care, and the founder of the medical platform, Medinsider.
Dali, the term “medical tourism” is incredibly popular today. Based on your experience, what really lies behind this concept?
Medical tourism is a much broader and deeper concept than simply traveling abroad for treatment. It is a complex ecosystem that brings together knowledge exchange between countries, professional development for doctors, and the sharing of international medical expertise.
From the patient’s perspective, it is an entire life cycle — from the initial inquiry to their final recovery. We don’t just offer a medical procedure; we ensure complete comfort in an unfamiliar environment. This includes selecting the right clinic, planning the visit, logistics, accommodation, and meals. The patient isn’t just receiving treatment; they are also getting acquainted with the country and its culture.
What factors lead patients, even those from developed Western nations, to choose Turkey?
In the global market, our primary advantage consists of three components: quality, speed, and affordability. Quite often, even in the world’s leading countries, bureaucratic systems or insurance regulations force patients to endure long wait times. Here, however, accessing an identical, high-tech service is possible almost immediately. Today, Turkey’s medical sector fully matches American and European standards in terms of quality, yet it remains much more financially accessible.
MedicalPark is known for its “Health While Vacationing” concept. How does this work in practice?
This is our exclusive approach: combining vacation with healthcare. The MedicalPark network allows tourists vacationing at resorts or in major cities to dedicate a single day to their health. The process is designed to be as comfortable as possible: we transport the patient to the clinic in our own vehicles, where the environment feels more like a hotel than a hospital. As part of a preventive check-up, we conduct a comprehensive health evaluation. All of this is accompanied by breakfast and, if desired, tourist activities.
Dali, in Georgia, you are also well-known for your platform, “Medinsider”. It seems this field is more than just a business to you. How did your journey in this sector begin?
It all started with pure enthusiasm: I saw people in need of help, and I altruistically assisted them in getting the right treatment in Turkey. It was a personal initiative, a desire to stand by them during their most difficult moments. Over time, this emotional impulse evolved into a professional career. Today, as I head the international division at MLP Care, my motivation remains exactly the same — to help people — but now I do it systematically and on a global scale.
As for Medinsider, it is an opportunity for me to showcase the side of medicine that often remains unseen: the reality behind the scenes of a clinic, the human stories, and the emotions inherent to this field. Medinsider gives me the space to build a bridge between doctors and the public, to help, to share experiences, and to talk about things that are often left unspoken.
It is precisely this synthesis of professionalism and genuine empathy that creates a new, humane standard — one that restores not only health but also faith in the future for patients from any corner of the world. Dali Nesuashvili’s experience and her team’s philosophy clearly demonstrate that in modern healthcare, borders are merely conditional; the ultimate value is the human being and their quality of life.
