Anniversary Congress Highlights the Successful Participation of Georgian Physicians
When leading specialists in women's health from around the world gather in one place, it is far more than a professional meeting. It is a global platform where science advances, new ideas emerge, and international collaborations take shape. This spirit defined the 40th Anniversary Congress of the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology (ISGE), held in Rome in 2026. The congress once again brought together internationally renowned scientists and clinicians dedicated to advancing women's hormonal health and reproductive medicine.
In his welcome address, Congress President Professor Tommaso Simoncini stated:
"It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to celebrate the 40th Anniversary Congress of ISGE, bringing together physicians and scientists from around the world. This congress provides a unique environment for professional development, where innovative research is presented, dynamic discussions take place, and new scientific collaborations are established."
For four decades, ISGE has served as one of the world's leading scientific organizations dedicated to gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine. Its mission is to promote cutting-edge research, translate scientific discoveries into clinical practice, and strengthen international medical cooperation.
The 40th Anniversary Congress represented an important milestone, reflecting on four decades of scientific achievements while focusing on the future of women's healthcare. Hundreds of specialists discussed the latest advances in infertility, endometriosis, hormonal disorders, pregnancy management, and contemporary challenges in reproductive medicine.
Georgia's Strong Presence on the International Scientific Stage
Georgia was actively represented at this year's congress. The Georgian Oncofertility Association participated with an exhibition stand and organized a satellite symposium titled "Infertility 35+", focusing on modern clinical approaches to age-related infertility.
A particularly notable contribution came from the Georgian-German Reproductive Center (GGRC), whose physicians presented their latest research and shared valuable clinical experience with the international audience.
Professor Nino Museridze, Founder of both GGRC and the Georgian Oncofertility Association, emphasized the importance of participating in the congress:
"Every year, the ISGE Congress brings together scientists, clinicians, and researchers from around the world to exchange knowledge and discuss key topics including infertility, endometriosis, hormonal disorders, pregnancy management, and the evolving challenges of women's health. We were pleased to accept the invitation to organize a Georgian symposium as part of the congress. Participation in scientific meetings of this caliber enables us to present our research, learn from internationally recognized experts, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge that ultimately improves patient care."
Representing Georgia, the following physicians delivered scientific presentations:
Nino Museridze, Madona Jugheli, Bella Jugheli, Oliko Murghulia, Nino Davidova, Nia Metonidze, Meriko Natroshvili, Lali Melia, Nani Tatishvili, and Mariam Makharadze.
Their research covered a wide range of important topics, including HPV infection management, molecular markers of endometriosis, outcomes of assisted reproductive technologies, pregnancy complications, and current challenges in women's reproductive health.
GGRC Director Giorgi Archvadze also highlighted the significance of Georgia's participation:
"It is a great honor for us that Georgia was represented at such a prestigious international congress through its own scientific research and clinical experience. Events like ISGE are essential not only for exchanging knowledge but also for demonstrating the professionalism of Georgian physicians and their contribution to global medical science. As the organizer of the annual international conference 'Infertility 35+', GGRC was proud to bring this platform to the ISGE Congress, providing young Georgian physicians with an opportunity to present their work to experienced colleagues from around the world and gain valuable insight into the latest innovations and clinical practices."
The ISGE 2026 Congress once again demonstrated how scientific excellence, clinical expertise, and international collaboration can come together to advance women's healthcare. The active participation of Georgian specialists further highlighted the growing role of Georgian medicine within the global scientific community.
